Hi Friends! This week I wanted to share my thoughts on Marjorie Taylor Greene getting into a verbal altercation with representative Jasmine Crockett. The two clashed in a meeting where MTG first made a snide comment towards Crockett and Jasmine fired back feeling the attack was personal rebutting with a very specific jab of her own. It sometimes feels like we gravitate towards drama than substance because no where that I personally read about the back and forth did I see mention of what the meeting was for or what they were trying to accomplish. Usually we lay the problem of not getting anything done in congress at the feet of its members only when in reality it is also our duty as citizens to hold them accountable. Spats like these capture the imagination more than bills about immigration, healthcare, social security, or gun control and so we trick ourselves into to believing our representatives are fighting for us because they’re willing to fight each other.
